Princesses on Ice featuring Tinkerbell!

Yesterday saw Aimee and I up at 5:30 am to be ready to catch a train to Sheffield to go and watch Princesses on Ice!

OMG was it sooo worth it, we are going to go again next year!

The set was beautiful, the skating was spectacular, the special effects were amazing and the costumes were brilliant! and our seating couldn't of been better! We were sat about 5 feet away from the rink, we were able to see all the facial expressions and not miss one little thing!

Aimee and I enjoyed the whole show, Aimee never took eyes off the rink for the whole show, we laughed, felt a little sad (ya know Disney stories have to have a little bit of a tear fest in there somewhere) we oohed and gasped!!! I can't say how much we enjoyed it!

My only complaint was that I wasn't allow to take photos because my camera was classed as a professional camera, well I went off on one, I told the steward that most of the little cameras you see probably cost more than mine, and that everyone was taking videos of the show on their phones and how could my photos do more harm than that??? I tell ya I was fuming as I thought about bringing my little camera but thought the less I have to mind the better, I also was carrying Aimee's princess dress!!!!! I snuck in a few photos at the end of the show as I didn't want to be chucked out and for Aimee to miss the show, I thought well what would it matter at the end of the show!!! And anyways if I could get a good enough photo to do the show justice anyways, all the lights, movement, etc. Well enough of ranting ... because of all this I only have a few shots! I did take a lot of video on my phone, but I need to work how to get it off the camera first!

This feature is taken outside Sheffield train station, so weird, when you stand near it and look up if feels like the water is going to fall on top of you!

Because of the low light I couldn't get a good photo of this amazing waterfall effect, which kept changing to fit in with whatever Princess story was being told!

I would love to say this is how I wanted the photo to turn out, but it was a complete fluke!

Again you can't see it very well but Aimee is standing just outside the rink!

This is one of the sneaky shots that I took, my heroine Tinkerbell! The lady that they got to play her was fantastic! To me she was everything Tink should be! Flighty, pouty, temperamental!

Minnie mouse got in the way!

On our way home! I bought Aimee a Princess Hat, a programme and a bag of candy floss which this crown came with! I love this little girl!!!!

I adore this shot, just a pity the background wasn't more pretty! Oh the rose came with the programme!

Thanks for looking!!

Just Magnolia!

This is the sketch for the Just Magnolia Challenge!

[Mina+sketch+wk+31[3].jpg]

and here is my entry!

Thanks Nicki for letting me stamp some images from your stamp! I found Snow-Tex in the Range and decided to play with it tonight, not really sure of it, it comes in a little tub and you have to stir it to mix it up, put it on with a brush, but it's really hard to do detail work with it!!!

I am desperate to find something that I can add to my cards for a fluffy, white effect! I have seen on other blogs that some crafters use liquid applique! What do you use??? Can you leave the name of the product and where you got it, please!

I have used:
Card Base - Stucco (Running with Scissors)
Card Stock - Red Bazzill (Running with Scissors)
Paper - Paper Cellar - 6x6 Modern Christmas paper stack (Thanks Tracey)
Image - Magnolia - Ice Skaters (Thanks Nicki)

Guitar Mini Book!

I have made the following guitar Mini Book for Georgia (our Niece) who is turning 7 next week! She adores Hannah Montana, so I thought I would make a mini book to keep all her favourite photos of her Hannah memories in (maybe mum would help with this)! I had some photos of Georgia when she came for a sleepover with Aimee and I took them to see the Hannah Montana movie the next day, and the rest I have "borrowed" from Ruth's blog. I drew two guitar shapes onto some chipboard for the cover of the book and covered it with some Bazzill cardstock, I have had the purple coloured sheets of papers for forever, they are too gaudy for a 12 x 12 layout, but cut up like this with photos and embellishments they look okay! All the pages are cut from Bazzill cardstock. Some of the flowers I have made myself and added some generous helpings of stickles! All the photos have gotten edited in photo shop with added digital frames as I thought layering them up with actual cardstock would make the pages too bulky! The journaling is printed onto white Bazzill cardstock and cut out! I added some eyelets to keep the top of the guitar from ripping (hopefully). I have left the blank pages fairly simple, as I had no more photos to add in! I made the name chain, by added lots of beads and charms. I also added a bright pink ribbon to represent a guitar strap! I think that is about it, any questions contact me and I will only be too happy to help you! I was sooo sick of drawing and cutting out guitar shapes, but will be doing it again in a few weeks due to Aimee asking me to make one for her, oh why, oh why do I leave myself open .....

Click on the photos to get a larger image ....

and yes I know I have spelt movie wrong in the next photo, it is now corrected!

Some close ups of some of the details, on this page I stickled all the veins of the leaves and flowers to add a little more to the page!

My hand made flower, stickled to death!

Of the chain hanging from the top of the guitar!

Tracey's Class!

I had a fantastic day at Running With Scissors on Saturday, I managed to stay the whole day for Tracey's class and the crop! The class was such a laugh and the papers we were using were divine, beautiful Bo Bunny! When I saw the papers immediately two photos came to my mind! Tracey printed her photos black and white, I went for sepia! You can see Tracey's pages on her personal blog here!

These photos are so special to me, first of all these are the last photos taken of my Nan before she died (RIP Nan) and these are the only photos of Nan holding Aimee, and I have mentioned before there was a special bond between Aimee and Nan!

"Quote from an earlier blog post, relates to the second page "Love"

This is my Nan and Aimee! Aimee is just over a month old!!! Wasn't she a pudgy little thing!!! The sad part about this photo is that we lost my Nan in the May of the next year!!! Anyone who really knows me, knows that I absolutely adored my Nan, would do anything for her, even though she always gave me a hard time, but that was the banter between the two of us, and no one else really understood it!!!! Their was also a special bond between Aimee and Nan! On the last day that we saw Nan, she was in bed and I put Aimee down beside her (Aimee was 8 mths old by then) and Aimee just snuggled up to Nan and kept smiling at her!! It was beautiful to see and for once in my life I didn't have a camera with me!!!! The freaky thing is Aimee will often start crying and I will ask her what is wrong and she will say "I miss my Nana Peggy (this was Chloe's name for my Nan). This totally freaks me out as I will question her, as she has grandparents in Ireland, America and England, but no it is my Nan she is speaking about!!!! How is that as Aimee was tiny when she last saw her!!!! I have that necklace that my Nan is wearing, it was given to me by my Aunt, Nan had it on when she passed away and I shall be passing it down to Aimee when she is old enough!!!! Well I had better stop as I am welling up as it is!!!!
Unquote"

As for the crop, ahem ... I stamped a few images, and then got too caught up on a project that a little girl called Chantalle was making with her dad for school, I must say for someone, especially a little girl, who has never done crafting before she was amazing and her book is going to be stunning!!! Tracey you have to remember to take photos of it when she finishes it! Again thanks to Tracey for putting up with me and to Nicky for leaving "borrow" some of her stamps, lol!!!! I will drop mine down next Saturday and you are more than welcome to stamp up some images!

Mum's birthday card

I have made this card for my mums birthday which is today and for the sketch challenge I am hosting this month on Running with Scissors forum!! Join in if you wish, lots of fun!!!

These papers I don't know where they have come from, but they were lying around. Due to the Swine flu (see previous post) this isn't great, the colouring is okay, the papers are blah!!!

I have used the new die that I got from Running with Scissors for the sun/star/flower on the top right and for the frames inside the card!! They go through the cuttlebug like a dream! There is also a bigger frame in this set, when you cut you get 4 different designs in one go!!! It's a new company that Tracey is ordering from - Neillie's Multi Frames!!! I can see myself buying some more!

Oink! Oink!

What a week!!!! On Friday 23rd, Aimee complained of a sore throat and was coughing, by Saturday night she was running a really high fever. I rang the Swine Flu hot line! There was about 12 different symptoms that they look for, Aimee had 10 of them, so she was diagnosed as having Swine flu! We are still unsure if she actually had Swine flu or not, as she wasn't seen by a doctor and she wasn't tested, you have to go by what a telephone operator tells you!

Poor little mite, coughing through the night, vomiting, not eating and generally just really poorly!!! Anyways got the Tami flu for her in TABLET form, oh no, she has never taken a tablet it has always been liquid!! They pharmacist did say I could open the capsule and sprinkle it over her food, yuck!!! so I asked her to listen to me on how to take the tablet, my little trooper listened to the instructions and swallowed it down first go! She had to take them 2 times a day for the next 5 days, not a problem!!!

On Friday morning both Steve and I woke up feeling absolutely horrible, because Aimee had being diagnosed we rang the hot line too, and guess what we were told we had it too and we had to stay indoors!!! Luckily Steve's brother very kindly put off their plans on vi sting their dad for a little while to go collect our medicine! Thanks Mark!!!

I am still feeling pretty lousy, haven't the energy to do alot and I hate feeling like this! I won't be going to school tomorrow! First I haven't finished all the medicine and I don't want to pass it to the little ones in case it is swine flu!!!!

Aimee asked a few times when was it going to be Halloween, I said Saturday but you can't go out due to us all feeling poorly! She said okay!! Then when we actually had trick or treaters knocking on the door (we couldn't answer the door) she said I feel sad as I can't go trick or treating!!! I said well Christmas is coming soon, lets hope you don't feel poorly then, she said yeah, cause all I get tonight would be sweets, but at Christmas I get presents! She then went off to finish her colouring!!! I am so blessed that she doesn't throw tantrums when she can't get or do what she wants, I just have to explain why and she listens!! What a treasure!!!

At that I am going to leave my tale of woe there!!!

Thanks for reading
